Introduced in mid 1969, a driver education programme using driving simulators was being introduced across Australia to reduce road accidents, following America, where the technology had been proved successful. A non-profit organisation with government backing introduced the computerised film projection driving simulators to Victorian Schools to Improve Road Safety and Training.
